Sun Met 2017: Celebrating Decades of Glamour

I am so excited to give you the low down on the Sun Met this past weekend, my look, some of the other looks I loved and the general atmosphere of the first Sun Met.

Firstly, my look! It was so hard not to spill the beans on this look from the minute I laid eyes on the Dolce and Gabbana sketch by Casper Bosman. We met for our first fitting on the 15th of January, the day I got back from my honeymoon. That’s a total of 11 days before I would see him again for my final fitting, the day before the Sun Met! I must say, I was a little worried at first but as soon as I met Casper, I knew that his overtime working fashion brain would certainly be able to pull this look off in no time.

On the 27th of January, I met up with Casper again in Cape Town so that I could lay my eyes of this mystery dress. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least, this dress was so regal I never imagined that the material sample I had picked at our very first fitting would be this gorgeous. It looks like it took months to make this dress when it actually only took 10 days of hard work and creativity by Casper Bosman and his wonderful team.

It was extremely easy for me to pick out accessories for this dress because I had just been obsessing over the Dolce and Gabbana S/S17 fashion show, which reminded me of the 1950s era that I had chosen to go for when I heard the Sun Met theme was #DecadesOfGlamour. I chose the red rose flower crown from a couple options Casper presented, so that I could match it with my Prada platform shoes. SunglassHut came through with the perfect finishing touch to my look with statement piece sunnies by Dolce and Gabbana. I did my own hair and make up, with the La Mer revitalizing hydrating serum as a base over my newlywed glow of course.

The Sun Met was absolutely stunning and I’m dying to go to the next one already and share sun and laughter with the beautiful people of the Mother City.

Speaking of beautiful people, here are some of my favorite looks from the Sun Met; comment below and tell me who your best dressed was.
