Something Fishy in Jozi?

It’s full blown spring time in Johannesburg and that usually means, for us students, it is the most stressful time ever with studying and submitting and also a time that makes one crave a holiday. Holidays always make me feel like a whole lot of seafood and chill, so I’ve been scouting the city for amazing seafood restaurants that can make me feel like I’m on holiday while providing me with brain growing nutrients at the same time! You need too try these out!

  1. Coobs

Coobs, is not necessarily a seafood restaurant but the seafood on their menu is lovely. The restaurant is in Parkhurst, and fits right into the ever vibey 4th Ave.

  1. Love Fish

This seafood restaurant, located in the Morningside shopping center on Rivonia and Outspan Roads, specializes in an amazing variety o whole line fish made in different ways. The rustic yet upmarket oceanic feel of the restaurant will no doubt make me feel like I’m back on my honeymoon.

  1. The Big Mouth

I think this, Nelson Mandela Square restaurant is part of everyone’s favorite seafood in Jozi list as it provides the best looking flat-lays for the gram! Not only does the food photograph well, but it tastes amazing to and is enough too feed you all day!

  • Gemelli
  • Although Gemelli isn’t a seafood restaurant, it does have some italian seafood dishes that are to die for, something I don’t mind staying in the city for! One of my favourite seafood dishes on the menu has to be the ‘Honeymoon’ Risotto, that everyone should most definitely give a try.

  • The Codfather (Sandton)
  • Always a great choice, whether for lunch or dinner out as a couple, or to take visiting family from abroad. The menu is not just for the fisheaters among us, but will happily satisfy the carnivores and vegetarians too. The wine list is extensive, for any pocket with good specials available. Not a cheap venue, but that’s what you expect in this part of town. Leave space for dessert!

I think I might just survive exam season in the city after all! Comment below on which seafood restaurants you think I should visit next, who knows maybe it’ll be my next review.
